Lavra was founded in the early 8th century, it became the holly place for all Ortodox Christians over the world. Lavra is known by its churches, caves with ancient crypts, museums: museum of Historical Treasures and Jewellery, the Museum of Ukrainian Decorative and Applied Art, the Museum of Miniatures etc.
